The Small Print

Privacy policy

Last updated August 26, 2026

PlantBones is a small plant and terrarium shop in Mount Dora, Florida. This page explains what we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we will never do with it. It is written plainly on purpose.

The short version. We collect a name, an email address and whatever you type into the message box, and only when you choose to send it. We use it to reply to you. We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. This site sets no cookies and runs no tracking or advertising scripts.

What we collect

We do not ask for and have no way to collect payment card details on this website. Purchases happen on third party marketplaces, which handle their own checkout and their own data.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies of its own and loads no analytics, advertising or social tracking scripts. There is nothing to opt out of, which is why you are not being asked to dismiss a banner.

The one third party the site does contact is Google Fonts, which serves the typefaces used here. Loading a font transmits your IP address to Google so the file can be delivered. Google states it does not use Google Fonts requests to build advertising profiles.

Why we use your information

Where it goes

Everything you send through this website arrives as an email in our own inbox. Nothing is saved to a database on this site, and we do not run your details through a mailing platform or a customer list tool.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we never have. The only parties involved are our web host, which runs the server the message passes through, and our email provider, which delivers it. We will disclose information only if the law actually requires it.

Email you receive from us

We are a small shop, not a marketing operation. If you join the list you will hear from us occasionally about a restock or a rare drop, and never daily. To come off the list, reply to any email we send you and say so, or send a note through the contact form. Either way a person removes you by hand, and we do it promptly.

How long we keep it

Because messages arrive as email, they sit in our inbox for as long as the conversation and any follow up is useful, and are deleted after that. Addresses on the list are kept until you ask us to remove you.

Your choices and rights

Whoever and wherever you are, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Use the contact form and we will handle it.

California residents. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

If you are in the UK or the EU. Our legal basis for replying to you is your request itself, and for the mailing list it is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and the contact forms carry spam protection. No website can promise perfect security, but we do not store anything here that we do not need.

Changes to this page

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.

Contact

Questions about any of this, or a request about your own information, go through the contact form on the homepage. A person reads it.
