For Everyone
Accessibility statement
Last updated August 26, 2026
We want this site to work for everyone who wants to look at plants, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard on its own, a magnifier, or a phone in bright sunlight.
Our target. Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We test against it rather than assuming, and we fix what fails.
What is in place
- Every image carries alternative text, and decorative ornament is hidden from screen readers rather than announced as noise.
- A skip link so keyboard users can jump straight past the header.
- A single, correctly ordered heading structure and a main landmark.
- Every form field has a real, visible label tied to it.
- Text and interface colors meet the 4.5:1 contrast minimum for body copy.
- Carousel controls stop on hover and on keyboard focus, and their targets are at least 24 by 24 pixels.
- Animation is switched off for anyone whose device asks for reduced motion.
- The layout works down to a 320 pixel wide screen and at 200 percent zoom.
Known limitations
The plant carousel advances on its own until you interact with it. It pauses on hover and on focus, and you can step through it with the arrow buttons or the dots. If that timing is still a problem for you, tell us and we will change it.
Tell us if something is wrong
If any part of this site is hard to use, we want to hear about it, and we would rather hear about it than not. Send a note through the contact form on the homepage and say which page and what happened. We aim to reply within five business days, and if a fix will take longer than that we will tell you what we are doing and give you the information you were after another way in the meantime.
Assessment
This site was reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA using automated contrast, landmark, label, heading and target size checks at desktop and mobile widths, followed by a manual keyboard pass. The last review was August 26, 2026.
